The fundamentals of a healthy exercise plan should include low impact exercises that you enjoy such as walking, biking, swimming, hiking, elliptical, as well as core strengthening with yoga, Pilates, and martial arts.  If you play sports it is also important to cross train with a low impact activity to reduce injuries and help your body recover.
